before the wii was released all anybody could do was bash it. Nintendo were the ones that sold it to the mainstream first.
But hey it's not the first time they have tried to sell motion controls, remember the power glove. Look it up. It failed.
Nintendo like the analog stick (was already around) but they made it mainstream. Just like the DS and the touch screen, now everybody does it.

And each gen is pretty frequent in releases which people lap up everytime. Bigger HDD for example itouch going from 16g and 32g (lower end - higher end), to 32g - 64g (higher/lower end)

Ah no actually ps4 and xbox3 will be late to the party. The usual life of a console is 5-6 years or so (sometimes less), from the nes era onwards at least.
Sony and MS put alot of coin $$$ into there systems,.. so it seems they need a little more time to play catch up ;-)
